The app, rebuilt for your kirana counter
Real kirana goods, real ₹ pricing. The actual screens you'll use, with only what the app truly does.
Add a loose item you sell by weight
Scan, search or weigh, then take payment
A GST receipt you can print or WhatsApp
Get your kirana billing going in four steps
From download to your first grocery bill, with no training and no computer needed to start.
Add your goods or import from Excel
Scan a packet's barcode to add it, or type in loose staples like rice and dal. Have a long list? Open the Web Back Office on a computer and bulk-import it from Excel, so you don't tap in every line by hand.
Set prices and mark loose items
Put a price on every item. For anything you weigh out, turn on Sell by Fraction so you can bill it in parts of a kilo or litre, and set a low-stock level so you reorder in time.
Bill at the counter
Scan a packet or enter a loose weight, add the rest of the basket, and take UPI or cash. Mark it due for khata customers. Print the GST receipt on a thermal printer or send it on WhatsApp, even when the internet is down.
Track dues and reorder
Check Due Customers for who still owes you, and open Reports for the day's sales and your fastest-moving lines, so you reorder the right stock before it runs out.

Kirana & grocery billing app: frequently asked questions
Getting started
For a small kirana or grocery shop, pick an app that scans barcodes, sells loose goods by weight, keeps khata and works without internet. Zobaze POS does all four and starts free with up to 100 items. If you can use a basic Android phone, you can bill on day one. Most owners are up and running the same day they install it.
Yes. Zobaze POS has a free plan with unlimited billing and up to 100 items, so a small kirana can start at no cost, with no hidden charges. A stocked-up grocery with more lines can move to the paid Premium plan for a bigger catalogue and staff logins; check current pricing in the app.
No. Adding a GST number is optional. If your shop is below the GST turnover limit, you can still bill, keep stock, run khata and share bills on WhatsApp without a GSTIN. When you register later, add your GST number and a tax rate and the app starts printing a GST receipt, so a small kirana can start today and add GST when it needs to.
Selling loose goods & barcode
Yes. Set an item to Sell by Fraction and Zobaze POS lets you bill it in decimal quantities like 0.5 kg sugar, 1.25 litre oil or 250 g dal, and the stock drops by the same fraction. You type the weight at the counter, so there's no rounding up to a full pack. One thing to know: you choose Sell by Unit or Sell by Fraction when you create the item, and that mode can't be switched afterwards.
You enter the weight by hand at billing, which is how most kirana counters use it. Read the weight off your scale and key the decimal quantity into the bill, and the app works out the line price. You don't need any extra hardware or setup to sell loose goods this way.
Yes, two ways: your phone camera, or an external Bluetooth or USB scanner. Save each packet's barcode once, then a scan drops it straight into the bill. Loose goods don't carry a barcode, so you search those by name. Note that the app uses the barcodes already printed on your packs; it doesn't print or generate barcode labels itself.
Yes. Billing runs offline with nothing to switch on, so a weak signal or a power cut never stops the counter. Your sales save on the phone and sync to the cloud at least once a day when you're back online. If a helper bills on a second phone, those sales sync to your account once that phone gets internet.
Receipts, GST & printers
Zobaze POS prints a clean GST receipt (a tax receipt for your customer): your shop name and GSTIN at the top, each item with its quantity and price, the subtotal, the GST amount and the total, then the payment mode below. Loose goods show their weight, like Sugar 0.5 kg. Print it on a 58mm or 80mm thermal printer or share it on WhatsApp, so your customer gets a proper bill instead of a slip of paper.
Add your GST number to your business profile so it prints on the bill, and set a tax rate on your items so tax is added at billing. The result is a proper GST receipt with your shop name, GSTIN and the GST amount, that you can hand over, print on a thermal printer or share on WhatsApp. You set the rate yourself once and it applies to every sale, so it stays correct even when GST slabs change.
Zobaze POS pairs with common Bluetooth thermal printers in 58mm and 80mm roll sizes, the ones most kirana counters already use. Pair the printer, pick it in the app and print in one tap. Turn on graphical mode to add your shop name and logo to the receipt. If a print ever comes out garbled, switch the print mode between text and graphical. You can also connect a cash drawer through the printer.
Yes. After payment, share the bill on WhatsApp as a message or a PDF, handy when a customer wants a copy on their phone or there's no printer nearby. You can also send it by SMS or as a link. Sharing bills is unlimited, even on the free plan.
You can edit a receipt, but a deleted receipt can't be recovered, so remove one with care. One thing to know: a sale always uses today's date, so you can't backdate a bill to yesterday. In the Cashbook you can date an expense back, but sales are always recorded on the day you bill them.
Khata, stock & customers
Yes. Mark a sale as credit and tag it to the customer, and Zobaze POS keeps a digital bahi khata for your shop: every udhar entry sits under Due Customers with a running balance, so you know who owes how much without a paper register. Record repayments as they clear and send the due amount to the customer by SMS. It's your udhaar bahi in the phone, sitting right next to your billing and stock in one app.
When a regular buys on credit, tag the bill to their name and mark it a credit sale. Zobaze POS adds it to the Due Customers list and keeps a running balance, so you always know who owes what, and you record repayments as they clear. You can also send the due amount to the customer by SMS. It's your paper udhaar bahi, now in the phone.
Yes. Turn on the out-of-stock setting and Zobaze POS blocks an item from being billed once its count hits zero, so staff don't sell atta or eggs you no longer have. Stock drops automatically with each sale, so the count stays honest without you editing it after every delivery.
Yes. Open the Web Back Office on a computer and bulk-import from Excel: fill the template with item name, category, selling price, cost price and barcode, then upload hundreds of grocery lines in one go. It's the fastest way to move a big list in instead of typing each packet on the phone. The free plan holds up to 100 items.
Plans & staff
The free plan holds up to 100 items for a single user, with 7-day reports, while billing stays unlimited. A small kirana with a core range fits comfortably. A grocery carrying hundreds of lines can move to the paid Premium plan for a bigger catalogue. Check current pricing in the app.
Yes, on the paid Premium plan you can add staff logins and let a helper bill from a second phone during a festival rush. Each staff member has their own access, and reports show sales per person, so two counters keep moving while you still see who sold what.
